I am 58 years old and smoked for 43 years of that, smoked between 15 to 30 a day. Tried many times to give up prior without success. Was diagnosed with emphysema back in September 18 and gave up cold turkey that day. Now six months on have lost all cravings for them, even with my wife still smoking in the house and around me. Feel so much better, exercise and walk ever day to help keep my lungs clear, best I've felt in years let alone saving heaps of money. Stay strong and you will succeed, get that nicotine monkey off your back once and for all. Cheers

Thanks for sharing your inspiring story Wazza. . Hopefully your wife will also follow suit like both my hubby and now daughter has. Anyone can quit smoking when they believe. We are proof!

Excellent so pleased for you. Have you noticed that your cough, sinus congestion, fatigue and shortness of breath have decreased? Keep up the great quit !

Geo,

Cough, sinus have definitely gone, fatigue and shortness of breath are still there given that I have emphysema, but nowhere near as bad as I was six months ago. I started exercising straight after my diagnosis and have seen great improvement in fatigue and breathing ability from when I started. I walk around 5km every day (weather permitting) and mix a bit of cardio work in with that, never felt better. I would like my wife to quit as well, but that is her choice and for her to decide when not mine. looking forward to the next however many years of being smoke free.
