My millionth quit

Lung cancer didn’t scare me but high cholesterol & smoking link sure did. I’m 54. Smoked & quit so many times but can’t do it anymore. Have 2 recovering addict kids who have kicked heroin. So I think I can do this. Dr told me smoking & cholesterol are linked and for some freaky reason that scares me more than the million other threats. Day 3 today. Sobbed at work. People think I’ve lost my mind. So mean to my husband. Looking forward to better sleep tonight. Last night was terrible but I’ve heard smoking ruins sleep so I’ve been clean! Bring on the snoozing!

You can do it mate... Hang in there at some stage you get a buzz from saying NO to something...

I feel your pain, you made it to day three and are still alive to write about it. Next day 4, 5 and 6 and before you know it will be week 1, 2 and 3. I'm on day three and I know we can both do it if we keep strong and with the support of others on this site.

Stay strong!! Smoked for 42 yrs, i will be one month smoke free sept 5! can't even believe it!!..there's a few bumps..but it's not terrible!!! i keep busy..love crafting..not good at it, but love trying! it keeps me extremely busy both in mind and in body so very helpful to have an outlet of sort! seriously..can't believe i've gone this far!! no NRT. it's like my millionth attempt as well! Champix seems to have helped with the edginess! ..will be letting go of those soon too...i hope! ...but for now..i want a good solid footing so i'll follow their recommended time frame! they've not had any noticeable adverse effects.. i'm 6 wks in with them so more than half way there!
