Why I want to quit

I like to smoke but have realised lately that I REALLY am not enjoying them as I used to.
About 80% of my smokes I would only smoke about 3/4 of the cigarette anyway before butting our and thought this is a waste.
But how do I break the stranglehold these things have over me as I have been smoking for 30 years?
Perhaps it’s my daughter telling me I smell; perhaps it’s the financial strain I am under; perhaps it’s my health has started to suffer or a combination of all these.
Anyway I am on Day 1 of my quit for good campaign and even though this will be my 4th attempt in about 10 years I am now more determined than ever to succeed.
I truly believe I need to be stronger and will my mind to not want to smoke; the inhalator & patches might help but it is ME that is the decisive factor.
Wish me luck & to anyone who reads this I hope you can quit too or share your success with me.

Thanks DAB57 & congrats on been clean for 3 months
Day 1 has been hard so far by 12:30pm I would have had 8 - 10 already but your words came at just the right time
Thank you for your support and I hope you too stay as strong as you sound to be

I am quitting today. Similar to others, I am beginning to hate cigarettes. I'm not even enjoying them anymore. I feel like it has become a habit like eating but we don't need it.
