Too long being sick.tired of it I know that smoking is a big part of my ill health but can’t stop. I can’t seem to get to the start part and I hate it so much. They should have to pay for a week lock up somewhere where if u sign u can’t get out for seven days. They lied about the smoking way back and the billions they make they should have to do this! I would sign in a second.

I've never tried champix, but if they're making you feel depressed, that's not good. In the past I've used patches, but I'm not a fan of them either. I am using lozenges atm & have a few a day. Quitting takes sheer guts, willpower & determination. You need to want the change & change your way of thinking. If you despise the cigarettes enough, you can do it. The first week or two of breaking the habit is the hardest, after that you think of it less. Good luck in your attempt, perhaps consult your doctor though about the champix making you feel depressed as that doesn't sound good Jedman

Yes i was on champix but gave up with it. As far as does it help with quitting for me not really it is yep a mind altering drug but the depression wasn't too bad with me. But biggest problem with champix seems to be weight gain they need to make the tablets abit stronger and your right tabacco companies just want their money. The worst place you could end up is in jail becuase they've banned smoking in there and your lucky if you even get patches 7 days in lock up type situation may help but they deprive you of both alcohol and cigarettes and that's shocking as far as withdrawal goes you start seeing things that arn't there and maybe even hearing things

Personally the champix is working wonderfully for me, no depression and l have more energy. But the more energy part might be from not smoking. I had quite severe nausea at the start of the course and went straight back to my doctor she gave me some maxolyn a anti nausea drug, it worked great, a couple of days later l stopped the maxolyn, l didn't need it anymore l only get light nausea now that doesn't last long... I was depressed before because l felt so unhealthy and worn out from smoking. My theory is, l can put up with the side effects no matter what they are, smoking was killing me l could feel it. The side effects of cancer and other smoking related illnesses are way worse. Good luck

Jedman don't give up quitting is a mindset,I've smoked straight since 18, tried to quit but go right back the cigs like a drug they draw you in convince you they are needed I believed I needed them to cope with anger, depression, boredom, stress, anxiety,I'd rather smoke then take a pill for my anxiety but recently I was diagnosed with copd, pulmonary fibrosis, and nodule on my right lung,I'm 49 no where ready to leave this world that's more depressing 😢 I've been fighting my entire life it seems for every thing and here I go again just once I would like to give up the fight not have to fight, but Im. Not ready to let go I've been on chantix a few weeks just started the blue pills I guess its mind over matter, I've been smoking 3/5 a day here and there yesterday I struggled with catching my breath I just couldn't feel like I had enough oxygen it scared me really bad I thought is this how it ends is this how I want it to end No today no more I got to fight this urge to smoke because death is scariest then not smoking
