Holiday here we come, reward yourself.

Each time you would of brought cigarettes pull that money out of the bank and place in a savings tin, don’t let it get used on bills. If you were smoking you would of used it on smokes. Set yourself a goal, start small like a night away with the family and build up to a holiday. You will be surprised how quickly you save the money.
I have not smoked for 18 days and have over $500 in my tin for our family holiday, you can do it and reward yourself.

Congratulations Suban, that is great news. I like the way that you are rewarding yourself and your whole family with your achievement - it must feel great.

Hi Sueban. Scary when you think about $500. As a non smoker you would think twice about spending that amount on a pair of shoes or 2 but as a smoker we thought nothing of burning it up in the ashtray. Keep going. Power to you.

Thanks everyone.
I’m just doing it cold turkey, tried all the other ways and they didn’t work for me but my mind is set on a holiday to Phuket with my family so the money I would of spent on cigarettes each week gets placed into a holiday fund.
OMG it’s so exciting watching it grow and becoming more and more healthier each day.

Hi Sueban. I quit 1015 days ago cold turkey. Those first few minutes, hours and days were sheer torment. I vowed that I would never go back to those initial moments. $22000 saved from the ashtray in just under 3 years is not bad. Have that amount in my under and overs tray... Love it. May you enjoy the rewards by abstaining. Mind you, my craving was called "Margaret Thatcher". Try as she might to tempt me to light up, she failed...
