Other people who smoke
I am a high school teacher and today we had a ceremony for some kids who have been doing some research. I ended up sitting next to a colleague who I know is a regular smoker like I was. I know he hadn't for at least an hour or more but I could smell it in his clothes and probably his hair. It was acrid and awful. To think I was like that all the time. When you can smell on someone else and find it repulsive, it provides some added motivation not to go back to that. It's dreadful really.
I had no idea myself that the smell hung around for so long. Guess when you're a smoker you just can't smell it on yourself.
I know exactly what you mean.
I had one of our technicians (a smoker) from work hand in some of his paperwork the other day, even that smelt like stale cigarettes & it lingered all day, wasn't nice at all. Never realised that before when I smoked.
