65 days smoke free

Posted in Reasons to quit
schedule 13 Nov 2017

Hi all, well 65 days smoke free here. Last week I had to go in to hospital for minor surgery. I arrived at the hospital at 7am and did not go into surgery until 6pm. OMG the old smoker me would have been fuming, I would have been giving everyone the evil eye and 1 wrong word I would have been ready to rip someones head off. The nicotine withdrawals would have been killing me. I would have given into the cravings and sneak out in my hospital gown with my big butt sticking out with a drip in my arm and stood out on a main road smoking a cigarette like my life  depended on it. Also since I would not know whenI would have my next one I would have chainsmoked 2 or 3.

But as I am now a nonsmoker I just spent the day lazing around, reading my book and chatting to patients. I was thinking  guess the surgeon is busy and I will go in when they are ready lol what a different experience.

All I can say is another reason why I am so happy that I do not smoke anymore

Good luck everyone

Great achievement of 65 days.

Since i have ceased smoking i have had a few ops also and the waiting around for procedures is the biggest test of patience, the old me..i would of had a groove worn in the floor and the anxiety levels through the roof, i would of been very much like a caged animal.....but now the new me, just lets the day dwindle by with ease,

resting at home and getting out of bed when i need to..not because the nicotine stick comanded me to, its so great to be free of something that dictated my life...

Heres to another 65 days and beyond.
