Having been a smoker for 35 years.. I have now been smoke free for 3 weeks.. one of the hardest things I have ever done. Ciggies were my everything!!! Trying very hard to kill the nicotine monster within.. getting a little easier. Have to change the mindset to feeling of freedom and not a sacrifice of a friend! So scared I will slip up

Hi Mslb,

Congratulations on 3 weeks smoke free. That's a sensational effort!!

Completely agree with the friend aspect. Friends don't kill so a cig was never our friend.

Hi there,

Yes I'm around 80 days now and whilst the cravings still hang around at times, I'm learning how to deal with them much better. I absolutely love choosing not to smoke.

Thanks so much! I feel brilliant and it's the best thing ever. I feel healthier, love wearing perfume without it being spoilt by the smell of smoke. It's something I never thought I'd be able to do because like you, saw it as a friend.

I don't deal with toxic friends anymore 😂😂

I'm only 6 hours free today😢 I was in America earlier this year and went 15 days smoke free, the day before I was heading home I brought a packet. I've been a smoker from the age of 7 and I'm now just 60. I gave up for 22 mth about 16 years ago. I've tried so many time over the last few years and I seem to fail every time. Morning is the worst time I can last until around 10 am then the little monster tells me go get a packet and try again tomorrow.

I need support... I hear you loud and clear.. hardest thing I've ever done! Trying to keep the mindset of not making a sacrifice but gaining freedom from the smokes!! I have been reading Allan Carr the easy way to stop smoking. This is really helping me to get through!! Smoking was really starting to affect my health and that is something I have never before had to worry about.. would just convince myself it would be ok.. so there is no choice really. Although I'm missing them sometimes.. it is getting easier and I do feel much better!! Trying very hard to stay a non smoker! One month free today
