Avoid situations where you want to smoke

schedule 13 Mar 2017

Six weeks plus 4days since my last cigarette. I have used patches but they are not necessary anymore

I am 67yrs old and started smoking when I was just over 18yrs old.

I have moments of wanting a smoke but I have told myself that will pass and it does. The habits were the hardest but not something that tempted me to pick up that smoke.

I will not put my children through losing their Mum or my grandchildren their Mama as I watched my Dad fall over dead in front of me when I was 21yrs old with two babies.

I know I have beaten this. My family need to have one parent and grandparent to keep on living for a time yet. My husband smokes after two heart attacks.

I have recently had a blocked artery so giving up smoking was something I just did.

I don't drink but I do get bored which is when normally I would smoke. I wasn't enjoying it and found being short of breath was stopping me from long walks which now I do easily without any problem.

I got this. I have won and I can say that even though it is only a short period of time.

On my 13th week. Ten years ago having come this far, I caved in. Depression is killing me, and since week 5. Just hate everything around me.
