The list

My hit list of why I think quitting was the best I could do:

Not feeling ashamed anymore of

- having smelly clothes and changing them more often than needed

- having smelly hair and washing them daily

- in the morning when my flatmates are entering the kitchen which has a slight smoking smell after me having had aa morning smoke out of the window.

- cleaning all the hundreds buts from the ashtray and putting them in the outside bin, as the inside bin would be too smelly..

- Smoking after having climbed a mountain and actually spoil the amazing breeze

- Standing in this exposed, smelly smoking lounge at the airport

- that I am struggling to talk to non smokers, as they refuse to stand beside me when I smoke..

Not being anymore worried that

- the party I am going to is non smoking and I am getting nervous and might not enjoy it..

- being worried that my cigarettes are not covering the weekend, hence I go and buy an extra packet

- missing the bus to have a cigarette, despite the fact of being late

- the flight is going to be horrible, as cravings starts after 4 hours

Well basically not being addicted anymore!

Please do not hesitate to add to the list...

I agree with everything you say Andies :o) isn't it horrible that we put ourselves through that!!!!

I just want to add that I have recently purchased a brand new car a few months ago and it still smells brand new :o) who would have thought a car could still smell so goo after a few months? LOVE not being a smoker anymore!!!! 135 days and still going strong!!!

That's awesome Andies :o) 2 months is a huge achievement!!!!

Its not about the amount of time/days/etc but it is about the journey we share together and support each other as only a fellow addict knows exactly how you feel....

Not having to go out at night when you have run out of cigarettes or feeling awful

in the morning because you smoked the last one last night and now you have to get dressed to go to the shop to buy a packet. Your list is great and worth remember no matter how far down the track we are.
