Today is the day

schedule 9 Nov 2016

Today is my quit day. I currently have 3 ciggies left in my packet. I have an internal battle going on...smoke them or throw them.

Right my reasons for quitting. I am 42 years old and I have been smoking since I was 17.....that is 25 years OMW. I have quit for 6 months before and it was cold turkey too and will admit that I am terrified to go through it again. BUT I just have to. My son is now 10 and begs me every day to quit. He is scared I am going to die. I am scared too and have a cig to calm down.

I am a personal trainer and ballet teacher. I am active, dont drink, eat right and have been fooling myself for years that the activity counter acts the smoking. I always said that when I cough in the morning I will give up......well lets look at what else has happened to my body. Last year I broke my ankle. Bone density is very low oopppssss. This year my hayfever was so bad I needed sterioids. Looks like I cannot put it off any longer!!

So I quit today for my son and most of all for me. I want to meet my grandchildren so here we go.....

It will be worth it! I'm smoke free for 7 weeks now. My breathing is getting better every day! I can smell things!! I have more energy

Chew a piece of Nicorette gum for those times you have cravings. It really does work!

So, are you still smoke free? As far as the leftover ciggies, just keep them in some drawer. You will never feel like you are desperate. After 530 days cold turkey I still have 1/2 carton. Should put them on eBay

Lia, when i quit 117 days ago i had about 40grams tobacco left.....(....smoked tobacco for long time). It ended up in garbage together with papers, filters ashtrays and lighters. So, you know what you should be doing lol ...Cheers.

Hi Tannalee, well done for quitting, you can do this, just take it one day at a time, hour by hour if you have to, if cold turkey is too hard ,maybe try patches or gum, they have helped me to deal with the psychological cravings, while withdrawing from Nicotine.😊
