It's time

schedule 18 Sep 2016

I have 4 cigarettes left in my packet and I want them to be my last. I have smoked for 26 years and never given up. I'm anxious but also excited as I've joined this page and reading all the posts has given me a boost of encouragement to give it a real go. My honest reason for giving up is now my 2 teenage girls smoke and the guilt is too much and I want to show them life without cigarettes. I have nictonene patches ready and in a few hours I will hopefully be smoke free forever. Sorry if posted twice, accidentally done as a comment before.

Best of luck to you. It's a furious ride but if you can mentally hang in you will succeed.

I've found out things about myself that I had no idea of and its all been from quitting the smokes. Use this site to vent, share thoughts, ask questions and keep informed, I've found it to be very helpful..

Welcome, as has been said by both Cranky and Gabstar, we are all on the same rocky path, return often and read, comment on posts and write your own, we all benefit from posts. I use them as my distraction, first thing in the morning and when I get a craving I hop on and it gets me through. Good luck and remember we are all here for each other.

Hi there "It's time" and welcome to the quit factory.......lol. You know what i recommend if you not have smoked those last 4 smokes? it is to throw out what you have left. Be strong as in the initial stages i kid you not it will not be easy.....BUT as time goes on and with help of nrt it DOES get easier to cope. You need to be determined, self disiplined and most of all have good reasons to WANT to quit. All the best and keep posting . Cheers.

Hi

I've been smoking since I was 15 off and mostly on.

Now at 60 it's about time to do it properly

I've failed before so know I need support but don't want to go to my doctor

Probably embarrassed

I only smoked 8-10 a day but I'm scared off cancer and the rest of the illnesses plus it costs a fortune

I really hope this forum can help me to stick to it

My biggest problem is at night with a glass of wine

So if anyone has an idea to help please let me know

Thanks
