I had a heart attack

On the 23 June I had a heart attack and I'm only 52. I have smoke off and on since I was 15. It's time to quit

Sorry to hear that. I hope you are recovering well. One step at a time... You don't need the cigarettes

Sounds like it, what a horrible wake up call. I hope your health is improving and quitting smoking can only help.
Sorry to hear about your health. Hope you get well soon. And good luck on your quitting and stay strong.

I had a heart attack 7 months ago and started on champix, now day 196. Champix helped me so much. Some advice, get the help you need for every aspect of your health. Yes you will be under a cardiac specialist but its unlikely they will consider whats going on w the mind. It is going to be really tough quitting and you are going to have to cope w coming to terms with having had a heart attack, I was 57. It can be overwhelming all the changes, quit smoking, lose weight, eat clean, dont stress, you might not be facing some of these but even one on top of quitting is bloody hard. My cardiac specialist told me that, yes I can take all my meds, yes I can loose weight and exercise but the biggest thing I can do to prevent another heart attack is to quit smoking, so thats why even tho last week for the first time in 6 months I was really tempted I shut that thought down pretty darn quick. Giving up smokes is scary as hell but never as scary as what I went through when I realized I was having a heart attack and the ptsd since. So hang in there and I hope your recovery is quick and you have a lot of support.
