take time off so you can, Rest when you need (sleep instead of smoke), work when you are bored, have a hot shower to relax.

I have been 3 days so far without a cigarette.

Every time I think of it, I say to myself, do you really need it?, I am breathing better already! and what a waste of 3 days of suffering. Why go back ? so that I can suffer for another 3 days trying to quit? NOOOO, thank you.

Be more stubborn than a mule. :P

Time for you to reward yourself I think. What about a swim?

Well done! I am a cold turkey person too and am on day 71. I was smoking at least two packs a day (50 years old now) and started smoking at the age of 14. If I can do it, then anyone can do it.

I believe there is a kind of euphoria we can feel about quitting but many of us need a bit of extra help when the cravings come back. I've noticed in my own quit that the cravings are like cycles. Last week was horrible for me but this week (at least today) seems good and I've not desire to smoke whatsoever at this moment. However, I think the nicodemon is cunning and leaving me alone for a little while. He'll be back I'm sure but hopefully with less strength the next time. At least this time I know who the real enemy is i.e NICOTINE

Thank you for your support Penolopejane and Manchild, yet another glorious day of not smoking, I would swim Penolopejane, if I didn't live out in the countryside, and the local watering hole is not really an appealing option but a nice stroll early in the morning without losing breath was a great reward. (my dog loved it too) :)

Manchild, you are spot on, it is a wonderful feeling and that nicodemon is always wispering in my ear, "go on have just one", and I stand my ground kick nicodemon in the butt and say NO WAY. :) :P.

Well done to both of you for standing firm, and I encourage you also not to give in, fight, fight, FIGHT. and thank you again for your support, your fellow struggler against the NICODEMON!.
