I am thinking that the quitline should probably be open 24 hours the fact of most quitters is it's a non stop thing they are only open on a very short term basis. Anyone agree?

When you need some support why don't you just get on this site and tell all how you are travelling. Another idea, try reading the myriad of posts on this site. Spend some time checking out what others have been through and are still experiencing. There is no one band aid treatment for all. I think in some ways the information you can get on this site far exceeds what you can expect from someone on Quitline. At some point you have to see your addiction as your problem and to find a way to get over it. No one has the solution. You might be surprised to know that there is one out there somewhere for you. It is your job to find it.

I totally agree. I remember the beginning and needing direct, person to person, support. The fact that they shut down at precisely the most challenging time for someone to quit is laughable. This site is great in the long term. The quit line is very poor in the short term. I think that means that many genuine attempts fail die to lack of support.

I do agree with you. Although I am on Champix, I was very anxious at the start about the fact that the quitline would not be there on hand 24/7. More help is needed to quite this dreadful habit. Good luck
