Hi sluggo
It seems like you have a good reason to quit like all of us but you have a doctors certificate. Its not a walk in the park sluggo but its well worth the walk, I smoked for 33 years and am now over 2 years smoke free I went with the patches but each to there own so many options now.
I've lost the nicotine stains, the cough, the stress about where I can smoke etc.
I've gained better health, breath (I blew 50 candles out in 1 blow) , looks (yes your skin changes), I don't smell like an ashtray anymore .
So give it a go and all the best.
