feelin unwell

Finally trying 2 quit smoking due to my health sick of having bad lung and respiratory infections all the time and being unwell I'm on my 7th day of champix and I have 2 say I'm not enjoying the side affects I'm having headache nausea and vomiting I only hope this wears off the longer I've been on them this is all new 2 me so I'm not sure if it's side effects or they don't agree with my body and the other medications I'm on but I'm determined 2 quit

Hi Keryn, if you are sick of all the crap associated with being an active smoker, you can always replace going on a drug to replace another drug by going cold turkey. I succumbed to nicotine addiction for 45 years and got sick of having what seemed like emphysema, huge $ outlay each week, having an anti social past time etc. no need to go on... I beat my cravings. Easy with the support and encouragement of those on this site and friends, but especially those on this site going on the same journey.

Hi Keryn, you poor thing, I feel your pain. I'm also using Champix and now day 21 and the side effects have finally reduced. The headaches were constant and if I didn't take the tablet in the middle of each meal I was very nauseous. Nightmares, insomnia, waking each two hours have now settled. Hopefully the side effects will pass for you and that's all it is. Use this site to moan, question, laugh and get support because it's such a good tool. Best of luck..

Hi Keryn,Champix just doesn't agree with everyone.i tried it on a quit attempt last year and was so emotional I left my husband and two children and moved in with my mother for two weeks.i was a basket case. I'm using high strength patches this time and finding them great however this is the LAST quit for me.im determined to not go back.So Champix isn't the only way.im finding a big dose of determination , patches and most importantly the huge amount of support and encouragement that I have received from my new cyber friends has been INVALUABLE . I log on every single day to keep myself accountable and see what I can learn or what I can contribute. Hope it all works out for you all the best of luck x

Hi Keryn & Nanette. I like reading all posts. I like knowing I am not going it alone. The support you and I get from everyone on this site goes a long way to help beat the habit. I hate saying good luck. Just hang in there with the others trying to beat the battle.

Hi all new to site....I have tried to stop smoking before obviously I did not succeed. I feel I am really ready this time...I am so tired of worrying about my health and so tired of saying no to outings because no one smokes! Enough! I pray this time will be my last time of quitting !
