I have tried to quit so many times I recently tried champix and it worked for a month and then I had a really bad day. The original reason I quit back then was so I could save money.I did save but it wasn't enough to stop me from lighting up again. Today I was sitting in bed talking to my boyfriend and asked if I could have a hug and he said no

cause I smell like smoke. That really killed me inside and I've decided to go through the quit stages again Just so I can have a happy healthy relationship. Today is the day I finally made a quit day and that I am really going to try to quit. I finally found a good reason that will help me to put out the flame.

Hi Hannah. First of all congratulations on taking the first step. Do you know what smoking does to a really bad day? It makes it so much worse! You don't realise it at the time & being a smoker it's hard to get your head around that concept even when you say 'yeh I get it', your brain tricks you into thinking it really does help. I have struggled with this for a long time. If only I could have one, I could calm down, I can get through the stress with just a few. It's all a lie. You've not only had a bad day but now you also can't breath & have wasted money (sometimes your last cent)on putting toxins into your body which make you feel tired, sick and crappy. I could go on but you get my drift. I remember about 10 years ago when I had quit whilst having the kids & saying the exact same thing to my smoking husband at the time, I couldn't hug him or kiss him coz the smell was dreadful & I told him so. It's so hard to live with. But...of course I took it up again anyway, back then one of my excuses was if you can't beat em join em. I couldn't stand being a non-smoker while he smoked & he told me I was boring when I didn't so I gave in. I'm smarter now and starting week 7 today. You have a really good reason now, so there's nothing stopping you. I think the stronger the reason the more determined you are which will result in the best outcome. Remember also you have to WANT to for YOU too, to be a healthier you. Just a warning that you don't do it solely for another person as you could become resentful without intending to, you have to truly want to for yourself as well. It is achievable! You can do this, I know you can, we all can give it away and be happier and healthier. Good luck.
