Is it worth dying for?

I just read some statistics from 2008/2009. Apparently in 2008: 2,664 people died from lung cancer. In 2009: 3,339 people were diagnosed with lung cancer - Only a mere 18% of those diagnosed will actually still be living in 5 years time & probably not living well? So, I guess now in 2015 they're all dead. That was a while ago but I'm guessing the stats are similar if not worse today? Come on people, is it worth dying for, don't become one of those statistics for Gods sake! Please keep trying. Way back when it was cool, the smoke companies may as well have given all us teenagers a box of guns without instructions & said here, play with these. Have fun with that, you'll be right. Then 20 years later when we're half dead, wounded & sore...... oops sorry, actually we've just discovered they can actually kill you, oh & you can't give them back either. Too late, you'll have to either die or fight for the rest of your life to get away from them. Geez.

Just to clarify, these statistics were just in NSW alone. Times that by every state and then around the world, the numbers must be horrendous. I never thought about these things before, I never wanted to know, I hid in shame from the truth.
