Have been smoke free for 1 week now - When the craving comes embrace it, talk to it, laugh at it - see it for what it is. I even give my craving a name (Margaret - after Mrs Thatcher) I can tell Margaret everyday exactly what I think of her. She and her ghost can do no more harm.
Just want to make a point about the TV adverts - I think they are counter productive - A positive advert from people who have quit- talking about their journey, their way of quitting, the positive things that have happened to them since quitting would be far more productive. Im only a week in but this time its for good.

Way to go BigJon! You can do it! As for the cravings goes. They're short-live. Congratulations on your quit!! Keep going...it's doable.

I really like the fact that you have personalised your craving by giving it a name... Not just any craving; and how clever to name it after Margaret Thatcher. Good luck!

Hi BigJon. Thanks to your clever idea re naming the craving "Margaret Thatcher" I named mine the same and have been smoke free for just over two years. Took that leaf out of your book and have not looked back. You wouldn't believe how devious she has been suggesting I reward myself and even when asleep she creeps into my head and has me "Chain Smoking". Just wondering how you fared with "Margaret".

Hi. Smeee again. Nearly 4 years quit, thanks to your idea about naming the craving.
