I'm getting there.

I was wheezy, short of breath all the time. Everyday i felt as though i had something drastically wrong with me. I then decided to give up cigarettes just before the new year. Even after just 2 days i realised i could walk for longer without getting as breathless. Thats when i realised it was the smoking 15 cigs a day that was ruining me. The first 3 weeks i took Champix which made me feel drunk all the time. I figured if i was going to give up i couldn't be bothered with replacement nicotine products. (Tried them all plus self help books, nothing worked). I've been smoke free now for 5 weeks. I get tingly now and again as my circulation improves and did suffer a few headaches. Now i feel no much better. I drink more water, started cleaning the house ridding it of tabacco smells. I have been positive with the new me i am 45 years old and last year felt 50+. Now i feel 40. Best thing i've ever done Quitting Cigarettes.

Hello vvvanessa, Congratulations on your quit! Job well done! Keep going stay positive. I quit smoking coldturkey 5+ months ago, and it's the best thing ever being a non smoker. Goodluck to you!

Hi vvvanessa, I like you only took champix a short time and didn't feel right. Am now 7 weeks smoke free and feel so much better. Well done and keep up the good work :-)

Hi vvvanessa, I was exactly the same as you with the wheezing etc. I started Champix two weeks ago and am 1 week smoke free. I didn't know if it was my imagination but I've been feeling so lazy, tired and unmotivated since starting the Champix, but it seems to be a common side effect. are you still on the Champix and if so did that horrible tired feeling go away?

Hi vvvanessa. Great job. I had the same problem. I could barely walk back up the driveway after checking the mail. I am using Champix and I also experienced the laziness and tiredness for a week or so after stopping smoking. I had experienced this before when I had try top cold turkey over the years. I think it is more to do with nicotine withdrawals than the Champix itself.
I did feel docile for a couple of weeksafter the initial start date of taking the Champi and that too has passed.
