To expensive to smoke

HI THERE FOLKS, MONEY IS THE ROUTE OF ALL EVIL , AND I ALWAYS WISHED I HAD SOME ,MONEY THAT IS ! SO THAT'S WHY I DECIDED TO QUIT . I'VE BEEN SMOKING MY LUNGS OUT SINCE I WAS FOURTEEN , I'M NOW 60. I HAVE TRIED QUITING SO MANY TIMES , BUT IT DIDN'T SEEM TO BE THAT IMPORTANT AND I COULD ALWAYS AFFORD ANOTHER PACKET OF TOBACCO , FILTERS AND PAPERS , BUT NOW THOSE PACKETS OF TOBACCO ARE HITTING THE $50 MARK AND I GO THROUGH 2 PKS A FORTNIGHT. I HAVE ALSO QUIT MY TWO CARTONS OF BEER AT $50 A POP.
NOW, WHAT CAN I DO WITH AN EXTRA $200 ? MY IDEAS ARE ENDLESS .
BUT FIRST I MUST CLIMB OVER THE PAINFUL HURDLES AND REACH THE OTHER SIDE, I HAVE MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO DRAG ME OUT OF THE BOG WHEN I NEED THERE HELP AND CROSS FINGERS I'LL COME OUT OF THIS , SMOKE FREE AND WITH A SMILE ON MY FACE.

Yay Jellybean60! I can SO relate to what you've written. I have tried hundreds of times to give up and failed epically each time. Started smoking at the ripe old age of 13 and was well and truly addicted by 14. I'm now 62 so that's a long time and a lot of money up in smoke. Smokes weren't so pricey back in the 60's and I could afford a pack or two with my weekly pocket money, then, they gradually crept up and up until they were about 4.50 a pack of 25. (Heh. That was years ago too.) Once they hit the $5 mark I switched to rolling my own, complete with filters and enjoyed the "savings". Then the pouches started creeping up too, thanks to the govt. tax (excise), and I downgraded my purchase from Drum to Champion Ruby, quite a bit cheaper but tasted like floor sweepings. But finances changed, I got taken to the cleaners via the family court and I couldn't afford to smoke anymore. Just pure and simple, not enough money to feed me, pay bills, feed my 2 dogs and smoke as well. So, thanks to Champix, I'm finished with the fags. Miss them. Love them. They're my mates..... but, now, after my pension is spent on living costs, there's a little bit of change left in my wallet every fortnight. That's amazing. Never had enough left over even for a cup of coffee (which also is creeping up into the luxury price bracket) So. Keep on climbing up that hill JB. It's great having the extra cash. It's tough going, but if I can do it, you can too. And, if you've got your fingers crossed you can't hold a ciggie in them can you? Ha!
