How dumb and blind was I

So tomorrow is day one for me. Two years ago my brother was diagnosed with lung cancer in June of this year he died. I never thought this could happen to us and in my stupid mind every time I have a cigarette I still don't think about it. Over the two years my brother was sick he always used to say"you need to give up" and I always agreed but even after watching him suffer and deteriorate and sat with him in his final hours I kept on smoking. He said to me one day you'll quit when I'm dead, how true this is about to become breaks my heart. I'm 31 years old and have been smoking for 17 years. I'm going cold turkey. I've explained to my kids that a little patience with me will be needed and they understand. They are amazing they hate my smoking. I hope I succeed I want too make my brother proud even though he isn't here to see it I know he would be happy I'm giving it a go, but most of all I want to be healthy I don't want to die young like my brother, I want to see my kids succeed in life have their own kids watch their kids grow....reality has finally hit me smoking does kill and if I want to live I need to stop now.

Well today is day one of the rest of your life. You will do it, if I can, you can and so can anybody. I just quit last week after 50+ years and you know what, it is easy, peesy. Don't let anyone tell you it's hard, don't think it may take several tries, don't give up on your brother, your kids, make them so much more proud of you as their mother even more than now. You want to live and breath that beautiful clean air (and boy it is)you have made the right step. Well done.

First of all I am sorry to hear about your brother. God bless you! I quit smoking Cold Turkry 3 weeks today. I smoked for 20 + yrs. Let me tell you I feel awesome, I can breath again. Its really nice t,o be Free from smoking or nasty nicotine. I hardly have cravings. If I can do it You can do it too. You need to make the move and be in charge of yourself. It's not hard to do. JUST DO IT!
