I really want to quit smoking because I have two daughters, one who is 6 and our latest who is 5 months old. I feel bad that cigarettes make my clothing smell whenever I hold or feed her, and I feel terrible that my eldest daughter has had to put up with it for so long.

schedule 24 Apr 2014

At least your addressing your problem and you know what it is. Put the guilt energy into something nice for you and your girls. Take them to the park when you feel that way. Act on the feeling. In wet weather you could attend the library. Do some thing for them each time you feel guilty. Like create a special afternoon tea for them. Lifestyle dedications may help.

Thanks to both penelopejane and MissyMe for the supportive words. I have sucked on sooo many musk lifesavers today my tongue hurts, haha, but still sticking with it. Very hard to ignore my triggers, (and I never realised I had so many!)Still 3pm is here so it is coffee time before the night haul so I will have it at my desk so I don't feel too deprived.

schedule 3 May 2014

Good going with the lifesavers. I have smoke-free clothing. It is uplifting to have fresh garments. My Husband has a smoking jacket and a smoke free jacket. Maybe you could invest in a new wardrobe to feed bub in?

Yeah the ol' smoking jacket. I actually have 2 dressing gowns- one that I smoke in and one that I don't. Having not smoked for a week now I too and loving my fresh clothes and that I don't feel like I need a shower to give our baby her last night feed. I have had a lot of uni assignments due this week though so that has made me a stressed mama but I have started riding my bike of an afternoon and that is nice 'me' time. Good luck with your journey
