Feeling ill

I am planning on quitting on Sunday. I feel so sick at the moment, my lungs feel terrible and my stomach hurts, plus it's affecting my mind. After smoking for 20 years, I quit for 3 years, cold turkey but started again a year ago, and I have noticed that the more I smoke, the more I smoke, if that makes sense, it's like everyday it increases. I went from just one or two a day and now it's up to 10. I am so disappointed in myself for starting up again, before I did, i was running marathons, and feeling amazing, so healthy and well in myself. But these little suckers have taken hold again. I smoke to fill the void, my smoking is very much emotionally driven.
When I was running, I felt invincible, it was something I was really good at, it saved me from all my stress and anxiety. But now, I am too scared to run, because I know I will have to face the reality of how much damage smoking is doing to my lungs.
I am too scared to quit and too scared to continue.
When I tried to stop in the past, I used the patches, but they made me really ill, I have used the inhaler and that was ok as it took the edge off a bit. I won't ever try Champix as the side effects are too much.
I have decided to turn to this community for support.
Good luck to everyone out there on this journey!

I am exercising my willpower. According to the information on this website, if I exercise it in other areas of my life, it will be stronger to deal with the smokes issue. I am strengthening my willpower with my diet and exercising.
I am walking, meditating and eating vegetables. I am feeling more optermistic. I wish you all the best for Sunday and will be joining you.

Thanks. I purchased an app with a hypnotherapy track to quit smoking. Weirdly, I have not smoked since listening to it and haven't had a craving. But maybe that's cos I feel so nauseated today.
Meditation really helps to soothe the mind.
Sounds like you're on the right track with exercise n eating veg!
Good luck to you too! Will look out for you on these pages and see how you're going :)

Hi Fsyd71
That app is by Darren Marks. He does lots of different hypnosis. I think I had to pay for the stop smoking one. I got it ages ago. The relaxation one is free from memory. Give it a go. I am gonna try and listen to it day and night.
All the best and good luck!Let me know how you go with the hypnosis session :)
