Life Changing
My fiancé and I have been pack a day smokers for many years now. We had been talking about quitting for awhile but done nothing about it. My excuse was I would quit when I fell pregnant.
We have been on holidays from work and both decided to head to the doctors to look at our options to quit. We are both now using Champix. My fiancé started about a week before me and has now been smoke free for 5 days with no hassles, no anger or frustration.. Sooo proud of him! I have been smoke free for 1 day now and staying strong. Champix has been great.. I have suffered the nausea and heart burn but my fiancé has not had any side effects. Anything is better then getting cancer!
Since starting Champix we have signed contract on a block of land and are looking to build our first home together. Once off the Champix we can then start trying for a family now we are healthier.
Our main driver to quit was calculating how much we spent per month on cigarettes... it's our whole mortgage payment!

Re the cost of smoking, It was a good extra incentive for me also. Pack a day = $8ooo per yr. and that's post tax. Pre tax is $11000. With you both smoking, WOW a whopping 22k per annum pre tax. What a mind boggling incentive for you both. Good luck
