Do it today because tomorrow never comes
Hi - I saw a commercial a few weeks ago advertising Low Dose CT Scans of one's lungs. While at my doctor's for a routine appointment, I inquired about the scan and found they are done at a clinic for an out of pocket fee of $250, so I ordered the scan. My doctor called with the results a few days later and told me my lungs show no sign of cancer however the scan showed the beginning signs of emphysema (I am 53 and have been smoking since my teen years). I made the decision right then to quit and asked my doctor for a presecrption for Chantix which I have been using for a little better than a week. I had my last grit yesterday around noon, today has been easier than expected. I know the desire to smoke will at times seem overwhelming, but I want to succeed now more than ever. Wish me luck. p.s. I have not had any of the side effects that are sometimes common with the use of Chantix. The other benifit of the CT Scan is any plaque in one's arteries is apparent, of which I have a small amount, and the person reviewing the scan may uncover other items inside your chest cavity that deserve attention, all for $250 : ). Chriso is smoke freeo for once in my lifeo.

Well done Chriso on the one of the best decisions youll ever make..There are no positives from smoking and as you have seen its so destructive to your health.. Good luck and all the best with your health

Hi, I am on day 13 of Champix starter pack and I am still smoking as much as I always do. I am not sleeping properly at night and wake up so tired. I am very short fused with my husband and kids, I don't want to socialise or talk to anyone. My stomach rumbles all the time and I feel so depressed, any little thing is making me cry. I don't know if I should continue. My husband and I are arguing all the time cause I don't retain anything he says and I just couldn't be bothered cooking, cleaning, working or anything that involves me leaving my bed. I'm laying in my bed and have been in bed since 6.30pm cause I can't deal with the noise. What should I do?

All the best. May prayers come true for you to be smoke free, healthy, happy and wise.
