G'day Everyone,

I have tried to quit many times before, too many to count. But I feel more positive here on this Day One than any other before. At the moment I have a little time off work, and work has always been one of my danger zones.

Another danger zone for me is drinking. Just two beers in and I go crazy and reach for the nearest packet of cigarettes. So I have decided to take the obvious course of action and knock the beers and scotches and ports and all my other favourites on the head as well. At least until I am confident enough to drink without smoking.

The cigarettes have been the biggest cause of misery in my life, not to mention my poor wifes, for so long, I feel excited to start this journey ridding myself of them. So, here we go and wish me luck!!

Yes, good luck, I chose Champix and am on day 10 smoke free! The end result will be being able to go any where with anyone and not be anti social. LOVE your new life and embrace it!!

I'm still not over quitting quitting - I am averaging 1-3 secret smokes per day instead of 10-20, but it's only been 27 hours and I am starting to wonder when I'll have my next smoke. Cold turkey for me, btw.

I just saw a new ad from this site that was more optimistic about "not quitting quitting", I liked it much more than the "You will get cancer and die" ones.

I enjoy reading other people's journeys, thank you... I know I'm on the right track, just not there yet.
