Will it make a difference

Took me three hours but I finally called the 'quit line'. Having been told that I must quit for medical reasons is a good incentive however I am not given any reassurances that it will help!!! I do know I should quit and I have set my goal for tomorrow with my first major hurdle of calling and registering on this site done:-)

have you thought how you are going to quit it is good to have a plan there are several methods, nicotine replacement therapy, cold turkey and then their is champix, bach flower remedies well whatever method you choose all the best and good luck.

I am only four days new to this myself but I have already noticed that I do not cough as much, I can take a deep breath without coughing my lungs out, and have saved money to boot and I do not have medical reasons to quit. Go for it

Hi Great decision to quit smoking. What method are you using?
Keep posting here, it really helps, even reading posts. Good luck it is so worth it.

I am on day 2 and cannot say I feel great although deep inside I know that I am doing a great thing for myself. I have attempted to give it up previously a few times but I know that when I did I had a different attitude - I really felt sorry for myself that I had to give up my best friend. Today I know that a change of attitude was necessary and cigarettes certainly were not my best friend. All the advice above is great - alternative therapy is a plus I think to help you get through. I am now a reiki practitioner and this is helping me get through the awful first and second day - a new way to relax! I have smoked heavily for 50 years but my confidence is success this time is high. Plan your quitting day for sure - but if you keep doing that there will never be a right time. Go for it and good luck. Keep reading all the inspiring stories on here!
