I don't feel good anymore....

I've been smoking since I was 13 years old.... omg.... too long. I have tried sooooo many times and soooo many methods to give up, but my willpower isn't very good.
I'm now at a stage where I don't feel good anymore, I smoke till I feel sick and lightheaded, how stupid! I suffer from anxiety and I think i associate smoking with something that helps calm me.
I just found out that my 13 year old has smoked, omg! How bad do i feel!!!! He stole them from me.... I feel like a bad Mum :-(
I want to quit for good, I'm over it! I hate the hold it has on me, I hate the expense, I hate the smell, I hate the taste, I hate my bad breath, I hate how it makes me feel, my kids hate me smoking.... Gee, didn't realise I had so many reasons! Stupid hey!

Hi all, I have tried to give up about 10 times really seriously and 100's of half attempts. I am at day 4 now and already feel clean and believe it or not I am breathing that little bit better. I have been exercising at home for a couple of nights now which has really helped my mental state. For me this has been one of the best attempts at giving up as I am doing this cold turkey and I am excercising also. I have a fear of putting more weight on as I am already over weight and I probably would be even more unhealthy than if I smoked if I get too obese. I love reading everybody's stories as it reinforces what we are trying to do. good luck every body. We can do it! :)

Today is only my first day and it started off with chain smoking my last 3 cigarettes.... Been wearing a patch all day, did Yoga with a friend for the first time, went for a big walk, kept busy...haven't had another one, NOT buying any more..... Was REALLY tempted after lunch, thought crossed my mind, so I ate a sugar free mint instead, lol! Determined to be strong this time :-)
Be strong Wendy and you will get there. Great that you have started the patches today and make sure you put one on each day. Carry some in your handbag for the days you forget to put one on. Keep posting here and don't worry how many times you post as there is always someone here reading the posts.

Wow Wendy that's fantastic I also have kids and they always use to point out the dangers of cigarettes and I always felt quilts when they saw me.
So now on day 5 of being a non smoker and remind my self that all the time.
So hang in there and all of us can do this journey together

Hey Wendy, how are you going? I just had a melt down at work, and no I DID NOT give in and have one. I feel proud of myself. I know you can give up. Seriously if I can get to day 5 there is hope lol Keep on going, remember the reasons why you are doing this: bad breath, bad taste, money, your children hate you doing it. keep focusing on them, you can do it :)

Try quitting a few times and you will get there... Learn your body and mind.. Learn to control them... Drink water when you feel like smoking. Most smokers are actually thirsty when we feel the urge to smoke.. Stay away from smoky people/environments.. No peer pressure its your life and you live once. After a few attempts at quitting if you still arenot successful, you should use Champix and treat it as your last attempt..
Also Vote Labor, the cigarette companies love liberals and Tony A butt will surely withdraw funding for Anti smoking Campaigns/Programs and still increase taxes on Cigarettes.. Hahaha.. There is not Butts about it.
