My Son begs me

Hi everyone, iam on day 1 of my quitting campaign, actually it has been 15 hours since my last cig. So far i am doing really well, probably thanks to the patch.
My 9 year old son absolutely hated me smoking and has been constantly telling me that he doesn't want med to die. Smoking will kill you! you stink Mum! But it wasn't until a couple of days ago i was yet again out the back lighting up he came out to talk to me and said "Mum PLEASE quit i dont want to die from your second hand smoke". I looked into his innocent little face and decided yes it is time.
After finding this website I feel so much more confident. Good Luck to you all.

Congratulations Jodie on making that all important decision to quit. I am also on the patches and find they really help, there are always times when the mind tells you to have a smoke but distract yourself and you will be ok. At these times remember your sons wish and stay strong. You can do it!! Good luck and keep posting, the support we have together helps!
Well done Jodie on you decision to quit. Sometimes it takes us a while to finally make the choice but the persistance of you son proves now that you need to succeed and I am sure he will be by your side all the way encouraging you.
Keep up with the patches as they do work and it does get easier the more you stop. I am now on day 89 and half a patch.
Keep us informed on how you are going and we will all support you.

Well done Jodie. Just take one day at a time and stay strong. Like you my 11 year old was constantly begging me to stop. He is so happy now that I have. Good luck and lots of love and strength. T xx

Well done, I am on day four and it was my 11 year old son that has been begging my husband and I to quit. I finally decided I couldnt wait for my husband so am doing it on my own. My son is very happy with me. Keep it up it will be worth it. Elisa
