Advice.

Hi everyone,
I know this isn't a health forum, however I would like to see if others have had this anxious feeling. I am about to start an attempt of Champix - so I am determined to quit. However there have been some experiences that have made be really anxious.
I recently went to my dentist for a routine oral hygine clean. However, ever since that visit and procedure I have had bleeding of the upper gums - which is strange because I thought goign to the dentist prevents that. It bleeds regularly in the morning and at night (a few times each day). My aniety however, is that when I cough, sometimes blood appears.. and I can never work out if it is coughing up blood from my lungs or my gums. Sometimes when the blood appears in my mouth I check my gums in the mirror and can't see any signs of bleeding gums. It is really causing me to panic thinking that the smoking has got me.
I have booked to go to my doctor, but cant see him until next week when he is free. I only want to go to him as I have been going to him for years and only feel comfortable going through all of this with him.
I am 30 and have smoked since 17.
Has anyone else gone through this scare?
I think that was a bit rude eric, you could have said what you said a bit nicer.
However, nimax - does the bleeding happen when you brush your teeth? Or does it just suddenly bleed from doing nothing? It sounds really weird to be honest that you just suddenly bleed like that.
I do agree with eric on one point that you should go and see your doctor, even then if your doctor isn't available go and see your dentist that did the dental work on you. Maybe they have an answer?
I personally haven't had that exact same situation happen to me, but my gums get sore and bleed whenever I do brush my teeth - my GP said that was normal as smoking aids gingivitis, but the longer you stop smoking the less your gums would bleed. << Probably not the same as your ordeal!
Good luck to you anyway! :)
