Grandson inspires me to give up

Hi All

I'm 54 and have been smoking since I was 15 - way, way too long.  I am on Day 2 of Champix and can honestly say that today I have not smoked as much as yesterday. (Unintentional, just haven't thought about it as much)

My son & his wife, both 30, don't smoke and hate the smell of it.  He often says 'here comes the ashtray' when I walk in.  Even this hasn't been enough to make me want to give up.

What has?  My Grandson.  He was 10 weeks prem and survived all his complications.  Now, at 3, he is running around and playing.  If I head outside for a smoke, he says, 'Where are you going Grandma? For a smoke?' (He knows he's not allowed out with me).  His little face drops when I say yes.

I no longer want to be the one that takes that beautiful smile off his face, so, I AM GOING TO GIVE UP SMOKING!  Wish me luck....

Good on you, just think of your grandsons face everytime you think of sparking up. Be strong and goodluck!
