I am 56 yrs old. Started smoking at school. Tried to stop  while pregnant at 43 yrs old. Had son  14 weeks prem smoking may have been a factor in that. I gave up  about 3 yrs ago because of the cost & bad example  for my son. Also I got tired of being a slave  to the smokes,  always having to get in the car  when I ran out & spending money that should have been used for much more needed things.  My new partner had given up as well  but when we got together  I had only just started again & he  began again too.  That was 3 yrs ago. On Mothers day  we were pretty much broke so I decided  what better gift could I have for  this day. So I smoked my last ciggie  that morning (lit it up 3 times ). I have been very tempted  many times over the past 2 weeks & it has been  hard  at times  but I am quite determined . Im looking forward to  shopping for clothes & decent skincare  for myself  & a few treats for  my boy .

Hang in there macsgal, i can so relate to some of the things you say, I took smoking back up due to stress, but in hindsight, "one was too many" such a cliche I know, but sooo damn true, my quit day is in three days, and I have 5 kids 13 and under, so we together than get thru this xoxo

Like you my son came early (7 weeks) and I smoked through his pregnancy, I'm ashamed to admit that, how horrible it must have looked, me with my big belly and a smoke in my hand. All I can say is I'm making it up to my grandchild.

Day 42, I determined that bubby will never know any smokers in he/she's life as I was the only one in my family. With the money I'm saving gonna spoil bubby big time!!!
