Day 2 today and my mind just keeps saying go and buy a pack. The cravings are so strong and I'm on Champix. I won't give in but I got up at 6am today and went for a run and I'm gonna get fit and trim and healthy, just hope these cravings ease soon.

Good on you Ben, you're in the hardest part. For me on days 1 & 2 it was like there was a voice in my head telling me to have one - i swear it was every 5 seconds. Day 3 will be easier and day 4 easier still. I am at day 21 now, cold turkey the whole way. Whatever you do, don't give into that voice. It will tell you that one won't hurt, but it will. 14 years ago was my first attempt to give up and I gave in to that voice. Took me 14 years to have another go, but now I have learned not to listen to the little devil on the shoulder. Be strong man - push through!!

Well done for getting through day 2 BenG.It's a hard road at times but You'll get through, minute by minute if u need to break it down to that, whatever and however!

It does get easier, as time goes by cigarettes arent so much on your mind, and the cravings aren't really cravings anymore just thoughts .But you can do this, we all can.

So stay strong and stay focused and You'll get there..

Good luck xoxox

Hi Ben,

I remember that feeling not so long ago (im on day 23).. I remember feeling like the minutes were just creeping by and that time just wasnt passing at all sometimes.. Every single thought i had lead back to smoking!!

But my friend i have good news - i promise it gets easier!! Slowly you will find that smokes are only on your mind every 10 minutes instead of 5, then 20 etc etc. Then one day you will suddenly realise that you haven't thought about smoking for a few hours and it will be an amazing feeling :-)

Some days are going to be bad days (im still getting them at day 23) but the longer you go these will get less and less.. Always remember that today could feel like an endless nightmare, but tomorrow is a brand new day!!
