For the Future

I'm 27 years old and have been with my partner for 2 years. All my life I've dreamed of having a family, there's nothing more in the world that I want. So about a year ago I decided I needed to lose weight and quit smoking. I started with weight loss and had some success, so I then decided to try and quit smoking. During this time I had also decided to start on another dream of becoming a teacher. Starting Uni was more stressful than I'd imagined and not only was my quit attempt unsuccessful, I also gained back all the weight I'd lost - about 14kg. So I decided I needed to concentrate on one thing at a time. I'd already committed to university, so I got that under control first. While I was starting out at uni, my mother did something amazing - after 25 years or more of smoking, she quit. I decided it was time for me to quit smoking too. I talked to my doctor about it and asked for a Champix prescription. I started taking the tablets and have now been smoke free for 2 days. I'm very surprised at how well I'm handling it and also proud of myself. My mum has been smoke free for over 6 months and I'm so incredibly proud of and inspired by her. I'm really excited about the future now and am looking forward to getting back on my weight loss journey too.

Well done i started two days ago on Champix. I havent reached my stop smoking date yet. Good on you for stopping after to days. Wishing you all the best.
