Another good start to the day with my longest run yet! Feeling really good. I had a couple of moments after my run where force of habit made me think of cigarettes again. Just fleetingly and worry a strange sense of loss and nostalgia?! I reminded myself that I'm nearly over the worst of it and that my body is responding so well to quitting. I also know from past experiences that falling back into smoking at this stage makes me fall in love with it even more and makes quitting harder. Instead I had my protein shake and popped in some nicotine gum. That redirected my focus. I'm definitely going to succeed this time, I feel that at my age I have a lot more to lose.

Those moments of missing it can totally feel strange but as you know they don’t mean you need to go back. It’s just your mind letting go of an old habit. What matters is that you noticed it and chose something different - the more you do that the more your focus will harden. I'm loving your stories/experiences @MurphysMum thanks for sharing.
