Determined to stay quit

Hi all.
I have smoked since 18 socially then full time as the habit progressed til I was 33... 5 months quit after giving up cold Turkey (toughest but best method to get the nicotine out and away).
Im a father of 2 kids under 3, I quit 5.5 month ago after losing my Mum to cancer (she wasn't a smoker). Seeing a palliative care ward was sobering.. I never wanted to end up there with my family surrounding me. Knowing I could have prevented it.
In the last few months my asthma as flared up something crazy, apparently quite common but super unexpected. I'm determined to push through this, I'm running again when I can and can't wait to be well for my growing family.
I miss smoking like crazy, but I don't miss being a smoker. I have re-learned what the best parts of my day can be, the meal with the family is the capstone, not the cigarette after it.

I am so happy to have people care enough to post and have others resonate with their ideas and thoughts. Good job on the 5 months and the positive thoughts passed on!
