Rough but worth it

It was rough quitting, even with use of a vaping pen. The first two weeks I felt a craving for cigarettes because at the time I thought they were more "satisfying" than a vape. Strangely, I felt an emptiness inside like I was leaving my "friends" behind (cigarettes). I threw all tobacco-related things into the bin and that really helped.

But I felt health benefits that exceeded my expectations in just a few days. More refreshed as the cough stopped. My lungs feel a lot better.

No more worries about ashes, ashtrays, having to light up in a never-ending ritual. All that is gone.

Finally I see smoking as disgusting and feel sorry for people who still smoke. It's such a filthy addiction.

I definitely don't want to go back and hope that I can cut out the vaping because I don't want to continue feeding the nicotine addiction.

My health keeps getting better everyday and it's only been three weeks.

Good luck to everyone who is quitting. It's nice to have clean air and quality of life.

I was just reading your previous post . Vaping is highly addictive so please beware . You may begin to notice the same things inhaling on it as you did smoking .

Can’t go anywhere with out it .

You are puffing more and more on it .

Your breathing becoming more difficult .

Cost to use it outrageously expensive .

Tips;

Using a straw cut into length of your cigarettes can be helpful to help you quit.

Distract , delay .

Use a breathing technique using your diaphragm to overcome waves of anxiety or stress

Read through hints and tips .

Find healthy tools like walking .

You're right. It is more addictive than I thought although I can't get a buzz from it. I feel stressed when I have to charge it again. Today I have been using the vape pen too much. Definitely I don't go anywhere without it. I'm afraid to cut back because the craving for cigarettes could return. When I was a smoker before cutting back, I used to buy the highest nicotine rolling tobacco because nothing else would have an impact anymore. Nicotine really gets a hold of some people.

I promise you you are going to love it when you are completely free . You will get a buzz out of living free ! A buzz out of not being tied to ball and chain . It’s exciting to be able do what you want to do and not a slave to what addiction needs you for . You will be on a buzz to tell others they can do it too and that life is grander without addiction in hand . Quitting is hard in the beginning , it’s very hard work , but the work and effort produces results . Post before you smoke , walk before you vape , come here, post . Doing different , thinking different works . Congrats on 3 wks .

Hi Knightshade. I immediately note the same thing as Blieve and agree with her response. You have come to the point where you acknowledge that smoking is a problem and desire change. That is time to take action and follow through. We don't take action if we don't see a problem....and nicotine addiction is a big problem. Read Allan Carr's book....How to Quit Smoking Permanently. He has helped millions get into the right mindset to succeed. Any cost would be covered a thousand times over in a short period of time of you quitting the nasty habit/addiction.

Read, learn and take action.

Hi Knightshade. I incidentally left a message on your other story/post.

I hope you are doing well?
