staying quit for 79 days

Hi all, I quit smoking on November 15, 2023, 79 days ago...but who's counting, right? Let me tell you, I was googling anything and everything about "quit smoking", to see if what I was going through was normal, to make me feel better I guess. Maybe hoping that I felt like real crap so I wanted everyone else to feel like crap? Not cool but honest. Any way, this site was a real life saver for me, hearing all your stories everyday. My anxiety in the first 3 days was over the top, I wanted to jump out of my skin. All of a sudden, having to deal with life without my nicotine hit? My husband was there for me, to handle everything silly little thing that was causing my anxiety. But all your comments about how things get better, taste buds, sense of smell, deeper breathing, wanting to go outside and walk around, it's all true. I can't believe how good I feel and I want to shout it from the rooftop.

Hooray!

You have every right to feel proud of yourself and to believe that smoking can be a thing of the past. Indeed, if we can, anyone can. And, when you focus on the positive things, it does make it easier.

Enjoy your new, long lost senses, your new found freedom and the peace knowing that you have a healthier future.

Well done for getting over and staying quit during the tough early stages. As someone who is only at day 8 of quitting, reading your story and other success stories motivates me. You give me something to look forward to.

Hey PRCJ, you're not "only at day 8", you are "at the greatest day 8 of your life"! Keep it going and things will improve so much that you will barely believe it. Every aspect of your life is going through the best change ever. Keep going to day 9, today, and 10, tomorrow!

Hi your story inspires me further to stay quit, I try and read some stories every week or so to keep my motivation strong and to know I’m not alone. It is hard at first to quit very but once you get your determination going and that kicks in properly it’s amazing what you can achieve in your life. Well Done 👍
