Here I am again for the umpteenth time.

I stopped in the past for 22 years but find myself hooked again. Must do it this time or it will ruin my life. 57 years old so still much to live for.

Hi there you are doing great for wanting to stop again. Take it from me you can’t toy with it meaning even one cigarette keeps you addicted. You’ve got to re train your brain. Form new habits and routines and things you enjoy especially. And make time to relax, where you don’t smoke at all. Use the NOPE rule, not one puff ever.

I’m giving you this advice because I made the mistake of thinking I could smoke one a day. It just doesn’t work like that however, even one occasionally will land you back in the addiction. Keep going and good luck with it 🙂

Thanks Cuba and ChilliDad.

Still struggling. I stopped for 4-5 days on 3 occasions in the last month. I get to a point where I feel like I'm over it and I just get drawn in again by some stupid evil unstoppable force where no rationale works. I'm an intelligent, university educated man. Damn evil tobacco companies, they are ruining lives. And now I find out that my 15 year old niece is vaping!! I'm trying to work up enough hate for these buggers to get me stopped again for good but it might not be enough.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try to NOPE rule.

I hope you are both well and enjoying your freedom from tobacco.
