I've "quit" multiple times, often resulting in rewarding myself with a sneaky ciggies, or just buying a pack to hide in the garage, thinking the effort to go and smoke out in the garage would be enough of a deterrent. It wasn't! When you find yourself sitting on a milk crate in the garage, smoking next to a container full of ciggies butts you realise something has to change. Day 31 now, and off to get a gym plan tomorrow. Im not doing this for anyone else this time, and bonus is the money saved.

No one can quit for someone else's desire. Good for you on your great start to freedom and independence from nicotine and the act of smoking itself. Making smoking unenjoyable is a great first step for beginners. Using that money saved for other enjoyment is a great thing. We have for so long been of the mindset that we can have a smoke as a reward when we start a job, during the job and for finishing the job. The truth is that we smoked of offset the cravings that we knew would come if we did not light up. We did not want to deny ourselves to smoke and feel controlled, we opted to believe that we wanted , deserved and earned the right to smoke. Rubbish.

Congratulations on finding your path to freedom.
