Day 2. The amount of times I've gone to reach for a cigarette without thinking is ridiculous. Realising how much I actually smoked..after food, on the toilet, after the toilet, hanging out washing, driving,..smoking was everywhere with me..

Mad isn’t it😀. After 3 weeks it’s only mental habit not physical need just bear that in mind

I've asked my non smoking friends what they actually do...its day 3 n I'm just thinking what am I going to do when I have a smoke break ..im struggling today..especially after eating..

Hang in there slk, divert your attention to something else.
Remember that you are giving up smoking, not your friends. Do a puzzle on break, or go out and join your smoking peers on a work break. See how they enjoy the first drag and then forget that they are smoking. How many have said..."I wish I could quit". They envy you !
Smoking "sucks". Sucks the life out of you . See smoking for what it is, an ADDICTION and we have been brainwashed to believe it is powerful. We can quit when we put our minds to it. Choose change and freedom.

Take a short walk, call a friend, exercise, stretch, get a glass of water, do anything but think that you need nicotine... Nicotine needs you to keep the addiction alive. Cravings mean that you are winning!

Cigarette breaks now when I’m at work I head for a walk to the car go get a drink or walk round the block with a coffee- not so easy if you have smoking buddies then it’s just a fresh air break😀doable but an adjustment at first- I found most smoking buddies do understand and do the best thing- do t mention smoking. Some ex smokers like the passive smoking hit some it’s undesirable makes them cough or reminds them of smoking. Only one way to fit out give it a try😀

I’m getting there- thank you! 😊 Cutting down on the caffeine now so sleeping better and not so kranky.
Eating too slowing down who that does get better Stace!😀
Other than learning to laugh when I bang my head drop things spend 30 mins looking for things all the dapsy things that seem to happen with
giving up for me anyway.
How you going with it all?😀

I'm still a little airheaded but physically good..my lungs are gold I haven't coughed wheezed or been short of breath at work ..my senses are on fire..I still would like a cigarette but I don't need one..n I've told myself as of Monday I'm going to concentrate on my eating habits that I adapted so in the last 22 days. I go out in breaks with people that smoke n stand away from them n still chat n stuff n if I smell the smoke I think wow I used to smell like that..

Hi Stacey, that certainly is gold for you all over the place, no ex-smokers flu, your senses improved and 23 days none smoking. Go you, very well done!
Sounds like you have a coping strategy to handle still being social and non smoking at work; and see you are past physical need to smoke which is great.
Wanting to smoke though not needing to physically is understandable, smoking does wrap itself into our everyday fabric very deeply , but do consider there is an element to this that is a mental pang of addiction to re-start so keep it shut down and shut out.
Addressing your past 22 days eating approach sounds good go for it, but baby steps if you don’t fee ready or want to ease into it do so and don’t reproach yourself.
I went to an open air shopping centre this weekend and bought a hotdog- I had to ask the lady serving 4 times what the choices of hotdogs were so funny I couldn’t register the information. I apologised to the lady serving said I’d recently stopped smoking and my memory was hazy- she understood she’d quit 3 years previously and was exactly the same- 😆.

Yep I went to Woolies today n just stood there looking at the shelf n totally forgot the main reason I was there n what I wanted so I just walked up n down the isles getting stuff I didn't need till it came back to me..it's insane isn't it..I wonder why this is..I just go all foggy n dopey haha..Maybe we have lost our minds in the process haha. How you going anyway

Woolies as in Woolworths? Do they still have that in Australia? Yes done the Aisles thing in the supermarket woolly headed very expensive!😀Im go thank you woolly headedness has gone although still do stuff day by day- how you going Stacey? x
