Feeling Good but tired

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 26 Jan 2022

Hi there

I quit a week ago and so far I feel really great. It is so good to be free. For the first time in my life I feel like I am taking care of myself.

However during the day, may be 2 or 3 times a day, I have moments where I feel tired and foggy.

Do you guys experienced the same when you quit ? How did you solve the problem?

Thanks

hi Valentino, take that positivity of feeling great and your freedom of your week into your forever. yes, you can feel moments of a foggy mind and tiredness at times. it may linger for longer than you hoped? Never-mind that. Get passed that with your conviction of never to smoke ever again.

You get passed it easier if you know you had your last puff with no cheats. No mistakes. No slips. No excuses and debate about having "just one"

Hi PuffNoMore

Thanks for your support. Yeah, I guess that those moments are part of the "cleaning process" but it is surprising as I feel much more energetic otherwise.

Stay strong

Cheers

Hi Valentino. You are doing very well and most would envy only minimal cravings in just a week in. Tired....not alert...foggy..... is just an adjustment to something that is different to us. Have you ever felt disoriented, an unreal feeling.......doesn't have to have anything to do with quitting smoking.....maybe a different environment. The body needs time to adjust, be happy that you are adapting so well and that you are freeing yourself from a terrible addiction and habit.

Stay positve, Be proud. You are doing it! 👍👍👍

Stay strong and positive.... you can do it....

Hi guys

Thanks for your support. I read since that it is part of the process. Your body doesn't get the hit he is used to and also nicotine is a product that excites the whole nervous system.

Body has to adjust especially when you stop coffe in the meantime ;)

Breath, feel free

You don't need to stop enjoying coffee, just cut back by half when you are not consuming nicotine. Nicotine used to diminish the effect of the caffeine , and when you get too much caffeine you get jittery or anxious and that is attributed to the nicotine withdrawal which is not quit correct.

I know that if I don't have coffee, I have had caffeine withdrawa headaches.

You know you best though....do what works for you!

Hi Happiness,

Thank you for your comment. I totally hear you when you say that you get headaches when you don't have coffee. For sure, coffee is a pleasure but it can also be tricky !

I could get 4 to 5 coffees (espressos) during the day and sometimes even one at night after a good dinner ! I wanted to change a bit my routine and when I stumped out my last ciggy I decided to stop drinking coffee as it was associated with smoking.

So I changed to tea and herbal tea from the day I quit. Surprisingly, I don't miss it for the moment and feel much more relaxed. So, I plan to keep it like this for the first weeks and then I will see. I may get back to coffee but cutting back by half as you say. Or I may try chocolate :)
