I quit on the 9th of April 2019. But was I really quit? I use NRT lozenges and my Husband used to vape inside the house. I had relentless cravings while he was doing this. I couldn't go near his room. this meant I wasn't able to get to the bathroom to shower or brush my teeth. when I realised what was happening to me I kicked Him out. I got some really good advice from the police. They told me to remain respectful and to do things that the rest of the family wanted for us. I asked Him to help me keep our dog. He bought the house next door. We walk the dog and share some meals. We get too tired to cook all the time. We have frozen meals, organic vegetables, regular take-away food and the rest of the time we cook for each other. Some jobs in the garden are too heavy for me, but not many. He has stopped vaping. He uses a few NRT chewies or lozenges. This is much better for Him because He has emphysema. We see each other daily. This suits me because our dog and I still care. We are quit. you can too. Find your own solution. And thank you all for your endurance, because it too me decades to cut down enough to set a quit date. Thank you all.

Wow!

Congratulations on your independence from nicotine, smoking and your husband.

I am glad you can still retain a friendship and have someone who cares about you and Bobby. We do what needs to be done in order to achieve what we want. You once said that you would quit smoking in your own way and you sure meant it!

I think the separation was more about the relationship than smoking, but hey what do I know. If someone special doesn.t respect you, then maybe it is time to rethink things. Just like smoking, when we see the light , the truth, we can take steps to make corrections.

Good to hear from you Penelopejane. Keep free and happy from smoking, enjoy the extras in life!

Hi Penelope I’ve read some of your stories and you have obviously worked on quitting smoking for a long time which I think is great. It took me about 18 years to finally stop and I smoked heavily for around 35 years all up. I encourage both of us to never smoke again and to keep up activities which help to keep us focused on other things. Well done Penelope !

Hello Penelopejane. Your name definitely rings a bell. I joined in 2015, 15 months after you. Quit cold turkey then and have been quit ever since. It is often said on this site, do whatever you must in order to quit. You certainly took that to another level. Becoming a non smoker is difficult if people you live with continue to smoke, vape or whatever. We are all cheering you on. Stay free from all vices.
