Finishing Champix - keen to hear other experience

Hi all this morning was my last day on Champix and now 105 days smoke free. Keen to hear how others felt when they finished the program, I had seriously disturbed dreams so am looking forward to peaceful nights, does anyone have any comments on any side effects of stopping immediately? Thanks everyone

Hi and Welcome
I don't recall any side effects from coming off of Champixc. Others who actually used it may concur or relate their experience.
Champix attaches to the receptors that nicotine once did and cannot now attach to with its presence. Always remember NOPE for those sensors are now open to attack by nicotine.
Champix had the brain release dopamine, as nicotine once did. Dopamine gives us pleasure, so we need to replace it with other things that give us that dopamine "hit".
Things like chocolate, the smell of lavender , hugging, kissing and even learning are but a few things that can have us release dopamine. Rewards yourself with small things for your victory. Take Pride in your achievement and bask in the satisfaction that you are capable of winning this addiction to nicotine. Look towards a brighter and freer future without the addiction and its harmful effects. Life is great as a non-smoker. Embrace it and soon you will be one too!
So stay with us and learn. You can be free!

I was on Champix, and only on half a dose. By now you should have worked out how you are going to play your part and have done some research on the substance of the cigarette. I had no side effects, none at all, it was the psychological aspect that needed my input. I had no vivid dreams, which was a relief. the other was just thoughts about succeeding, after 2 attempts, so I chose the Mantra NOPE (not one puff ever) every day and still use it. You can choose your own if you need to, but for me this one worked. Super well. Congratulations on 105 days TarNZ
