Anxiety will pass being a nonsmoker will not

Day 33 smoke free cold turkey and I am experiencing high anxiety but that's ok it will pass. Being a nonsmoker will not pass because I will remain one. Nothing absolutely nothing will take me back to being a smoker I am standing firm on remaining a non smoker π

Hi Jess, we hope you can get past those anxious moments. Alot of people have them. If Quitting was easy-pezzy, We may not need these forum's. Having said that, stick with the plan, stay determined in the mind and be proud of your achievement! I know the job of abstaining is never over, but. it really does get easier, as time heals almost everything!!!

Thankyou for your encouragement PuffNoMore it is a great help. The anxiety I am experiencing is showing me even more strongly how much I am done with smoking. I am a nonsmoker now and would be an absolute fool to pick smoking up at my age. I e

Once you have made up your mind and gain that stronger belief with every passing day, it does get easier. We can quit smoking when we want to be free of smoking more than smoking. When we realize that it gave us nothing, and so we are giving up nothing except misguided beliefs. We always knew that smoking was not healthy, yet we still made excuses (and any excuse) to permit ourselves to continue rather than face the fear of quitting. That was true! We get cravings..........BUT we CAN quit smoking easier than what we were led to believe.
BELIEVE in yourself!

Oops apologies PuffNoMore I accidentally hit post before finishing. I have total faith that it gets easier and easier not that that doesn't mean that there arnt some tough patches to go through. I'm gonna kill this nicotine monster once and for all. I am never going to puff on a cigarette again. I'm done. It's had its way with me for way too long. I have taken me back and kicked that little beast to the kerb. Only the best for me from now on and puffing on one of those killers is not part of it. I will get this anxiety worked out and I am looking very forward to being anxiety free. It's a mind game and I will be victorious ππβ€οΈπ

Thankyou happiness. I am never going to puff on a disgusting soul crushing cigarette in my life again. I love hearing it gets easier. It's not showing up as in telling me to have a cigarette but instead it's showing up in giving me anxiety in my chest. I have fallen for that trick before. I'm not falling for it this time. The nicotine monster is a cunning little bugger but his not gonna have me. I'm a nonsmoker now and I love being free from that chain of addiction. A drug addiction. A drug addict. A nicotine drug addict no more. I'm free of it. I have a little anxiety to get sorted but that's cool. I will work through that tooβ€οΈπβ€οΈ

Hi Jess, I just signed in again before bed soon.
Alot of people have anxiety issues, me included. The thing is. Smoking never solved it! Maybe a smokescreen? A distraction! Celebration! OR Commiseration??
They all seem to be some kind of an excuse to smoke, to me now.
People have some kind of problems to solve throughout life. So why should we add to it through giving hundreds of dollars to Tobacco Giant's emptying our purses and wallet's all the time?
It doesn't make much cent's to me

Hi Jess, a bit late in replying but I needed to say something to you. First of all congratulations for pushing through those moments of anxiety/stress. You are going through a transformation of your lifestyle, and you will benefit for some stress relief, as in a short meditation or deep breathing technique, you can check these out on line. One thing for sure NOPE (not one puff ever) works if you practice this along with a change in your reaction to the situation, by meditating. Such a positive post and congratulations.

Thank you so much softly40 for your kind words and support. I took your advice and did an online meditation as soon as I read your comment. I have known for days that I needed to do a meditation and your comment was just what I needed to gently step myself into one. I am so grateful and thankful we have this platform to connect us all to help each other in getting started and staying quit. Have a magical day my friend π§
