Cravings

Hi, I’m 6 days in and the cravings and agitation have started today - 🤯 how do I control this? Thx

Heya
I’ve been through that h*ll as I bet all of us quitters have. When that happened to me I would redirect my thoughts into doing something else that was productive and rewarding and then gradually the cravings went away.
You need to figure out a way to convince yourself that you don’t need to have that smoke. Which is the actual truth.. you don’t.
But that nicotine is so evil that it makes you believe you can’t cope without it .. which is bs
I’m 60 days in .. and trust me , it gets easier and life gets better.. a lot better
👍😬🙃

Good day to you KO, 1977!
If you want to be rid of the cruelty of addiction forever? Smoking for you is over!
Never mind smoking it like a weekend warrior.
if you continue not smoking for 6 days imagine yourself cool, calm and collected after 60 days!
The tip from me is, its a mind game.
Make up your mind.
Pay for it or save $$$

For me it’s drinking tonnes of water and literally knowing I can have a cigarette at anytime, but I chose NOPE.
For me. that control over myself really flicks the switch over the addiction talk vs the powerful mind we have. If you think you are missing out, you will. I won’t allow myself to think I am missing anything, I just have heaps of positive self talk and often think about how I will look, feel, smell, the whole lot in one year, and it really motivates me. I also think about what I will do with all of the money I will save at the end of that year, or on a holiday and how those disgusting cigarettes stole that freedom from me, or worse I continues to steal it from myself and my kids and I won’t have it anymore.
Keep going, it gets easier. Water is your friend!

Hi Guys.
For me its not a choice.
I will not open myself to a debate in my mind of I can have a smoke, but I wont.
For me, it doesnt work nor help.
I say "I dont smoke" and I bloody mean it. lol

The mind is powerful, you can use it to aid you., or nicotine will use it against you! You have already made up your mind , a promise to yourself at least , now convince yourself (mind)that you mean it. Don't debate..... debating means there is some merit to smoking..... if you believe that still, then you need to read more or our stories and the comments .Find the mindset that fits your firmly in the WANT to be a non-smoker . There are no benefits to smoking and a multitude of reason to be free of it.

I use the nicotine inhalator. It doesn't give the pleasure of a cigarette but it takes the edge off the nicotine craving. I find it particularly helpful as it mimics the hand to mouth action of smoking. I often call a smoke the adult pacifier because the action in and of itself soothes.
