Anyone have any similar experience of week 4 or 5ish? I am experiencing terrible glass (both ends!) It's never ending. Also I'm constantly so tired, I sleep most of the time. Strangely I have very little cravings but my body is a mess. Should this still be happening over four weeks of no nicotine?

I hear you Vincent. Im one month smoke free and the energy I felt in the first week has dissipated. Im not sleeping well either and am low in energy and have tummy issues as well. My voice is croaky and I have a sore throat and cough with mucus. Sounds awful doesn't it. But its not. Its my body healing itself. Like most healing processes it feels like crap before it gets better. Yeah I was expecting to be doing cartwheels and skipping in the sunshine even running 5 kms by now, but Ive put poison into my body for over 30 years. Ive got to give my body all the time it needs to get rid of that stuff and heal. Try and keep a clear and positive mind set. I practice gratefulness and cherish each breath I am taking. Also I check in with my GP as well if Im concerned. However I believe in time, these symptoms will pass.

It is a time of healing. If you sleep more, i guess your body needs it.

I will guess that you have made some other changes in your life while quitting smoking too. More oxygen by deep breathing probably causes some as it needs to escape. A change in your diet, more fiber for instance will cause gas.

In my case, I presumed it was the diet, rather than quitting smoking in itself.

It is wonderful how quitting smoking can carry us to improve our lifestyles in other ways too. Cutting down on alcohol and exercising more, watching our weight or eating more nutritiously. We tend to just make better choices in general.

Keep with it, it does pass...lol.

You asked Hmali about Champix and he advised pills for nausea. Ginger is good for nausea and it is also said to curb nicotine cravings, which led to me wanting to quit smoking. It may also settle your stomach as to not have so much gas too.'

As I recall I still took a bit with turmeric in a soup, but I don't think it helped with the gas. The gas dissipated over time once the body got used to my new eating habits. I was concerned enough to research it, but took it as a good sign.

Im at 3 weeks and very similar to vincent and charki - reassuring!

Insomnia and low energy - was going to gym 6 days a week before quit, now just want to sleep 24/7, but time will pass, so might as well stay quit while time flys!!
