Sleeplessness is maybe because you are thinking too much about a cigarette all times. Everybody's body reacts differently after quitting. My sleeping schedule was the same as before quitting, sometimes I was sleeping little extra. 15 days without sleep is a big concern. Seek you, doctors, advice.

You have made a very wise decision of quitting. Be strong, don't lose your commitment.

Yes , you may be thinking about quitting smoking too much, or maybe it is a coincident. I slept very well after and during quitting. I recently went through a stage where I cannot sleep as soundly or get back to sleep. I make lists of things to do and think too much about them. All done now, and last night I sslept well. The mind does like to play tricks with us. Learn meditation, or eat tryptophan foods, like turkey.....or natural melatonine. Lack of sleep does create problems, so don't let it go too long.

Hi Nicki, I would suggest it is your evening dose of Champix, you are required to visit your Doctor throughout this process, mainly because Champix doesn't suit everyone, I had to drop my evening dose but it still worked mainly because I stayed close to this forum, posted quite a bit, and did heaps of research into Nicotine, the addictive part of the cigarette.

The right mindset is so important, any aids can help and Champix was the best for me, but I had too many nightmarish dreams, some have taken Champix with the evening meal. Stay in touch and let us know how you are going anytime. NOPE (not one puff ever) You can do it.

Thanks all for the suggestions or thoughts, I don’t believe it’s my brain overthinking or such as generally I’m a great sleeper, I do believe it’s the champix, I’ve already dropped my evening dose of champix as it was making me to sick (with doctors approval)

Just wanting to see if there were any tips or tricks to help me sleep through the first few weeks

Hi ,

You are right in thinking that the first few weeks are crucial to any Quit. And dropping your evening dose of Champix could be your saviour to getting some good nights sleep! Your doctor prescribes to it, so that is ok. What we have to know is that sometimes we have to fight the little monster of addiction from our mind. Not many find it easy, but if you have not one puff of nicotine in 15 days? You could well be so glad when you get to the other side!

Stay the course. Its just a matter of time.

Everybody has some degree of difficulty with abstinence, so just stay smoke free and you'll find yourself free of this terrible "HABIT"
